Presents Edward Head Live

Biography

Edward Head is an Arizona native.  There was always music playing in the house when he was growing up.  His father, was a Jerry Lee Lewis fan, and his mother, of course, was the Elvis fan.  As a young boy, he often put on concerts in his front yard for the neighborhood kids.  Ed continued his love for music in his teens, and had his own band called Regiment Punk.  The one song that is remembered by the band is "Dead Puppies", not quite Elvis material.  Although the band did not make it big and eventually broke up, Ed continued his love for music.

Elvis was always an influence on Ed.  He loved his style, his voice, and of course his stage presence.  Ed found that he could sing a lot like Elvis, and purchased his first karoke system.  Soon his family and friends followed suit, and there were karoke parties every weekend.  Ed began going to clubs and singing on karoke nights, in which people began to call him Elvis when he entered the club.  Ed continued to perfect his "hobby" and began to study Elvis' voice, techniques, and movements.

Ed was shopping with his wife, Cyndee, one day in the mall, and they were in a small shop where there were Elvis collectables.  The shop owner began talking to them and in the conversation found out that Ed could sing Elvis.  She asked him if he would be willing to come to the retirement community where she volunteered to sing for Valentines day to the residents.  Ed agreed and a couple of weeks later in a leather jacket, black shirt, jeans and black boots, went and performed.  He was a hit.  After the performance, an employee asked if he would be willing to do a 50th Wedding Anniversary.  Ed eagerly accepted, and from that moment, the hobby turned into a dream.

"Edvis" is Ed's alter ego.  When Ed decided to sing professionally, he realized he needed a stage name.  Cyndee suggested that he replace the "L" in Elvis, with a "D" because his name is Ed, and become "EDVIS".  Ed agreed and soon Edvis Entertainment began.  Edvis has performed both Nationally and Internationally.  He has performed on the Carnival Cruise Line, at the  United Nations International Beauty Pageant, and many other venues across the United States.  Edvis is not only an Elvis Tribute Artist, but a historian of Elvis' music career, with special stories behind the music that may not be known by the general public.    Edvis takes you from Elvis' early stages in 1956, through the 1968 Comeback Special, to his jumpsuit era in the 70's.  Everyone has their favorite era, but the entire Edivs experience is one that leaves people mesmorized.

"Elvis is one of a kind, states Ed, and no one can ever replace him.  It is my responsibilty to stay true to his music and beliefs, while representing what I think he would have wanted his fans to remember.  Everyone always asks me what my favorite Elvis song is, and I have to say all of them.  However, my wife will say it should be 'Young and Beautiful' since that is what I sang to her on our wedding day." Ed also adds, " I want everyone who comes to my show to have the experience of a lifetime and if they are not already an Elvis fan, leave my show being one".

During the week Ed is an independant salesman with GPC and has been for over tweny years.    He lives in Avondale, Arizona with his wife and three children.
